Darn Thorn (1975) was born in Sligo, Ireland and holds a MA in Fine Art from Monash University, Australia. He has lectured and taught Photography in Bristol, Dublin and Melbourne. He has exhibited in Australia, China, Ireland, The Netherlands, Norway & the UK. His work has been published in Photofile and The Age (Australia) and included in the book 36 Exp. published by the University of Manchester. He was a studio holder at Spike Island, a Center for Contemporary Art and Design in Bristol, UK (2010-13). In 2014 he was resident at Fire Station Artists Studios, Dublin and Malakta Art Factory, Finland. Recent exhibitions include Bristol Biennial (2012), EXPOSURE – FORMAT International Photography Festival, Derby, UK, (2013). and Foundation 14, Offaly, Ireland (2014). He currently lives in Cork, Ireland and holds a studio at Backwater Artists Group.
