David Monahan is a photographer based in Dublin. Monahan gained international recognition with his ‘Leaving Dublin’ project – an important recording of modern Irish history – which has been internationally acknowledged as a metaphor for our times by CBS News, The New York Times, The Toronto Star, The Immigration Museum Melbourne, Australia and many others. He was selected for the PhotoIreland Festival’s Main Show, 2012, as well as for major art exhibitions around Ireland and in Melbourne, Australia. Monahan has been working with renowned Irish cultural institutions since 1997, such as the National Library of Ireland, the National Museum of Ireland and the National Photographic Archive, both as a photographer and a fine art printer. He is confident in all photographic mediums, from high-end medium format digital through to 35mm film, 4×5 and 10×8 analogue.
