Kate Bowe O’Brien is an artist and educator. Kate graduated from Crawford College of Art in 2010 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, and holds an MFA in Contemporary Art: Photography from Edinburgh College of Art.
Kate’s main interest lies in the abstraction and manipulation of light through video, projection and analog photographic processes. Since completing her MFA in 2013, Kate has focused on audio visual collaborations, working with experimental music makers in Ireland and abroad. Kate’s artistic work and A/V collaborative projects have been shown in diverse locations including; The Phi Centre Montreal, the Triskel Arts Centre Cork, Urban Spree, Berlin and The Fleming Collection, London. Her work was also featured in publications Glass is More! & Prime Magazine.
Kate is based in Dublin where she is a director at A4 Sounds Studios. A4 Sounds is a interdisciplinary arts organisation that focuses on socially engaged arts and education. At A4 Sounds she manages the photography facilities and runs photographic workshops. Kate also works in Technological University Dublin as the photography technician. 1
