Mickey Rooney is an award winning photographer.
“I was born in in Derry in 1960 and have certainly lived through interesting times. I have traveled widely and lived in France, Spain and the UK. I returned to Ireland in 2006 and since 2011 have been honing my photography skills. I have had photos exhibited in several galleries including The Glebe Gallery in Donegal and the Blank Wall Gallery in Athens. Other images have been printed in the media both local and national. I have always had a love for live music and travel which are hopefully reflected in the images.
Every picture should tell tell a story and I aim to get that story in a non posed, candid and natural way. This site is to give you a flavour of my work and the opportunity to purchase images should you so wish. I will be adding to it and updating it over the coming months.
Two of my images are now in the permanent collection at the Glebe Gallery in Donegal and I won the Irish Times Award at the annual RUA exhibition October 2019.”
