The Copper House Gallery is a Dublin city art space dedicated to showing and making art. They curate and promote contemporary Irish photography, illustration and fine art, with extensive fine art printing and framing facilities dedicated to crafting museum quality fine art prints and limited editions.1

History

The Copper House Gallery are one of Ireland’s longest established photographic and fine art printing studio, working in close collaboration with artists, curators and museums, enabling them to produce world class works for exhibition and collection. Producing both Lambda photographic prints and Archival Pigment prints, they have an extensive range of papers, including speciality papers made especially for them by the leading German mill.

The Copper House Gallery has framing rooms making fine frames to conservation and museum levels to give the perfect finish to your art and photographs, in addition to being a ‘Certified Studio’ supported by Hahnemühle and a supplier of Hahnemühle Fine Art Papers as well as their own range of papers.

The Copper House Gallery contains the most advanced editioning equipment in Europe including their Cruse Scanner, a rare device, owned by such institutions as the Guggenheim, the V&A Museum and the Vatican Secret Archive. This device produces images far exceeding the results achieved by photography and conventional flat bed scanners.

The Copper House Gallery is a member of the Court of directors of The Fine Art Trade Guild and contribute a column to their Art Business Today magazine as experts on Fine Art Printing.

They are dedicated to nurturing artists to make work of excellence and to providing a platform for artists to engage with the wider community. The Copper House Gallery is committed to celebrating diversity, social inclusion and the promotion of mutual respect among the city’s diverse communities and is a proud supporter of and advocate for Marriage Equality and LGBT rights. The gallery has provided a platform for discussing sexual and gender identity through shows such as Attitudes, an exhibition of illustrations by Eoin Coveney and Spleen and Ideal a photographic exhibition by Tiane Doan na Champassak, which ran at The Copper House Gallery in association with the Dublin Pride Festival 2013.

For many years The Copper House Gallery have worked in tandem with stakeholders and innovators in the arts including PhotoIreland Festival, Dublin Pride Festival, Illustrators Ireland and have received excellent coverage by The Huffington Post, The New York Times, The Irish Times, The Sunday Times, RTÉ The Works, The Sunday Business Post, Le Cool and Totally Dublin.

In 2013 The Copper House Gallery won the prestigious Allianz Business to Arts Award. They were awarded the Jim McNaughton Perpetual Award for Best Commissioning Practice for the Marker Hotel commission – a collaboration with Brehon Capital Partners, McCauley Daye O’Connell Architects and photographer Enda Cavanagh.2
