Stefania Sapio Blog Post

Stefania Sapio is a photographer born in Rimini, Italy. She moved to Cork, Ireland, in 2001 where she still resides. In Cork she attended an evening course in black and white printing and a 3 years full time course in documentary photography. Her work was featured in Source photographic review in summer 2010 (photo cover). It was shown as part of Cork photo festival and it was selected by Belfast Photo Factory to be included in a group show in Belfast and in the Gallery of Photography, Dublin; it was shown in Cork as part of ASPECT and selected by Gallery of photography, Dublin as part of 30 Irish perspectives. Stefania Sapio had a solo show in Dublin in occasion of Photoireland,2013, and her photographs were published in New Irish Works, 2013. Her work was shown as a solo exhibition inside the Boole Library, University College Cork, from April to June 2014. She participated to Cork Fringe Photo Festival in 2015 and 2016. In May, 2015 she got a degree in Art History and Philosophy from University College Cork, with first class honours. She received a scholarship for a Research Master in Photography in 2016.
