In November 2021, Kate began working with a small group of students at St. Paul’s High School, Bessbrook, South Armagh, to represent their local area through photography, as part of my Masters by Research at the IADT, Dublin. Between November and February 2022, the seven students created hundreds of considered images, presenting how they view their local environment. Flight of Fancy illustrates the geographic, aesthetic and conceptual decisions of these young adults of South Armagh.
