This book is an exploration of the photography of Anglo-Irish photographer Mary Countess of Rosse, who lived in Birr during the 19th century and photographed her relatives as well as members of her community. David H. Davison has been a primary researcher of her work and with this book has helped to bring her early photographic work into the canon.
