The National Gallery of Ireland celebrates humanity in all its forms in this new photography exhibition showcasing works recently acquired for the national collection. Picturing People features over 70 photographs by Irish and international artists such as Lee Miller, Elliott Erwitt, Inge Morath, Dorothea Lange, Eamonn Doyle, Dennis Dinneen, Aoife Shanahan, Gilles Peress, Jill Freedman, Saul Leiter, Eve Arnold and Markéta Luskačová ranging from 1841 to 2020. This photobook also functions as a catalogue for the exhibition Picturing People which took place from the 11th of September to 21st of December 2021 at the National Gallery in Dublin. 1

Sarah McAuliffe is a curatorial assistant at the National Gallery of Ireland and studied at UCC.

The National Gallery of Ireland houses the national collection of Irish and European art. It was founded in 1854 and opened its doors ten years later. 2
