Eight Gallery was located in the Georgian interiors of no.8 Dawson Street Dublin. It provided a space for early career artists and facilitated exhibitions in the independent Irish art scene. The gallery initially began in 2012 with Jenny Taylor, who began using this upstairs room in Sol Art Gallery to show work by recent graduates. It was voluntarily run and its annual programmes curated by Eoin O’Dowd from 2013 – until its closure in 2018. In this time the gallery held 34 solo and group exhibitions as well as several live events, student shows, artist talks and participated in contemporary art fairs.
